The Xbox 360 USB Flash Drive has a compact, portable design and features a built-in hook, so you can attach it to your keychain or a lanyard. The USB drive is inscribed with the Xbox 360 logo and features a black and green color scheme that matches your console.
Last month, Xbox 360 users were finally given the option to transfer their user data to a flash drive. Note that you can use any flash drive for this purpose, but that won’t stop companies like SanDisk from releasing “official” Xbox 360 flash drives. SanDisk’s drives are pre-formatted for use with an Xbox 360, sure, but you can easily do that with any flash drive and an Xbox 360 in seconds. The only significant difference between these Microsoft-approved drives and other flash drives is that SanDisk is throwing in a free 1-month Xbox Live Gold subscription, which you may or may not need.
The Xbox 360 USB Flash Drive requires no configuration or extra software. Since the device has been preconfigured for the Xbox 360 console you can simply plug it into the console's USB port and immediately begin accessing your data from the dashboard menu.
SanDisk has just started selling its official Xbox 360 flash drive, which has been designed for the Xbox 360 and it comes pre-configured to work straight out of the box with the Xbox 360.
